I'm JJ Spivey, founder of Everglades Dock and Lift.
I worked in a lot of different trades over the years before I fell into the marine construction industry. I really started enjoying working on docks and boat lifts, mainly because of the environment: working on the water.

The most rewarding part
The most rewarding part of the job is when we get somebody's dock and boat lift all set up for their boat and for their needs.
No corners cut
We always try to install everything to the manufacturer's recommendations, without cutting any corners. Quality is a big thing with us.
We want the community on Marco Island and in the Naples area to be able to enjoy their boat lifts without failure, and to enjoy their docks without struggling. By that I mean having the right products and amenities installed on your dock for you to use.
After the build
Something we see a lot in the Naples and Marco Island area is contractors who build docks and seawalls and then move on to the next one, and don't really help the community by servicing and maintaining the seawalls, docks, and lifts in the area.
That is what our maintenance plans are for: two visits a year to keep a lift running.
